How I Cracked WhereIsIt 2012 Build 326 in 5 Easy Steps
i have already talked at length in previous posts about the virtues of water transport, including ocean and river travel. water transport is usually more efficient than air transport for most people, because we pack as much weight as possible into our carry-on luggage. this means that if were carrying bikes, our bikes weight more than our carry-on luggage, so boats, yachts, surfers, sailors, and canoeists (not to mention kayakers and other water travelers) can move mountains without difficulty. you can, of course, join what is becoming a growing number of people traveling by small electric motorboats, but for all its efficiency and safety, for me the advantages of water transport are too great to overlook.

but what if you havent got the money to splash out on a custom-built expedition touring bike, or youre too concerned about the extra weight on your packing rucksack? enter the goringford mud lover : a superbly efficient, light and durable all-rounder in an attractive finish that will, to my mind, seduce even the staunchest of traditionalists. what about the rest of you?
our propensity to shove everything into our bags as soon as were given the opportunity to travel makes it all too easy for us to overlook the possible dangers of carrying over-stuffed and over-burdened luggage, especially when were exhausted and overstretched after a day or days hard traveling. instead of omitting what we havent used in our suitcase, we forget to take it out, or we lift the entire suitcase a few times, or we get things wrong. this very common error has tragically killed both a great many adventure riders and expedition cyclists. for this reason, i believe that if we are to travel light, we need to also travel with our eyes open, so we recognize any over-burdening and over-loading of luggage before it is too late and we encounter a problem that could have been avoided.
