global mapper provides many methods to analyze point clouds. your cloud can be split into a topology (a mesh model with no length or area information, thus can be used with any surface model) or an area model (a mesh model with length and area information). the area model tool allows the user to perform spot analysis, enabling measurement and analysis of areas, boundaries, volumes, and surface features. it allows the user to manipulate, cut, and join features on the map and create and edit a custom feature collection. various views (floor plan, orthogonal and overlapping) provide unique perspectives into your data with robust editing tools.
